| Govt accords sanction for prosecution of then Naib Tehsildar Shopian | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 02-The Government today accorded sanction for the prosecution of Mohammed Yousaf Itoo, the then Naib Tehsildar Shopian, who was caught red handed by the Vigilance Commissioner while accepting Rs.2,000 as bribe.
Manzoor Ahmed Dar resident of Keravorah District Shopian lodged a written complaint in Vigilance Organization on March 28, 2009 alleging therein that the case regarding his land has been pending disposal since long before Mohammed Yousaf Itoo Naib Tehsildar Shopian. The complainant further alleged that accused Naib-Tehsildar had earlier demanded and accepted Rs 50,000 for disposal of the case. The accused Naib-Tehsildar further demanded Rs 30,000 as bribe and part of bribe amount Rs 2000 was settled to be paid on March 28, 2009. On this complaint the Vigilance Organization constituted a trap team and laid a trap and caught the accused Naib-Tehsildar, Shopian red handed while accepting the bribe money. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused who was arrested on spot. After completion of the investigation the Vigilance Organization sought sanction for prosecution of accused which was granted by the Government today. JNF
