AMTA observed one day token strike

Jammu, Sep 2: Consultant doctors of ASCOMS and hospital, Sidhra, Jammu under the banner of ASCOMS medical teachers association (AMTA) observed one day token strike on September 02, 2009.
As per a release, a delegation of recently formed AMTA had called upon director principal and trustee administration, ASCOMS and hospital and apprised him of the demands and problems faced by the doctors. In a meeting on August 31, 2009, the three demands regarding implementation of 6th pay commission, release of salaries in time and payments of DA and other allowances at par with govt. employees from time to time were initially agreed to by director principal and trustee administration in principle but were later negated in the written communication received by AMTA.
AMTA also briefed that, after a week, a three day protest from Wednesday, 9th September 2009 to 11th September 2009 will be undertaken and in case demands are still not met by then, an indefinite strike will be declared from Wednesday, the 16th September, 2009, the release added.
