The relay hunger strike would also be launched from the next week. Singh said, “Police and administration are themselves provoking the things here in Jammu by using brutal force on peaceful protest of students who are demanding establishment of Central University in Jammu”. “Brutality of police has been increasing day by day to quell the voice of students community and I must ask one thing to government and Police not to provoke the students to come out on violent path”, he said adding, “we are fighting for cause of Jammu in a very peaceful manner if government tries to create wedge and weaken the movement by going hard on CUAS leaders, they have to face dire consequences”. He alleged that students who have been actively involved in this movement are being harassed by the police and they (Police) are warned for dire consequences. He criticized the police and district administration for arresting the students from Parade College and asked administration to release the arrested students. Speaking on behalf of students, CUAS Secretary Suresh Ajay Magotra said that brutality of police will provoke the students to come out on violent path and change of strategy. He informed today 25 students of Boys Higher Secondary School Akhnoor were injured in police lathicharge in which three were seriously injured and one also shifted to GMC Jammu. Six students in Parade College and two in Samba were arrested by the police while they were distributing pamphlets as per CUAS program, he said. While condemning the police action, Magotra categorically said this brutality will not be tolerated at any cost by the Samiti.
