| Soz panels reports ready for submission | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 3 -The five-member Congress disciplinary committee, which had been assigned the task of looking into the complaints against some party leaders for including in anti-party activities, has completed its report. Party sources said that the committee may submit its report to the PCC Chief and the AICC leadership within next one week. Sources said that the committee has recommended minor punishment for those who had been airing criticism of the state Congress leadership but has favoured strong action against those who had contested the Assembly and Lok Sabha election against party candidates. Sources stated that senior party leader Abdul Gani Vakil, G A Saroori and three other leaders may be asked to behave in future and desist from patronizing dissidents in the organization. Informed sources said that the PCC Chief Saif-ud-Din Soz is in favour of mild warning to the party dissidents and rebels because any expulsion or suspension may result in the weakening of the party in the state. Indications are that the party high command may also play safe so that the party did not face any major problem. But it will accept the recommendation of the disciplinary committee for strong warning to Abdul Gani Vakil. Reports said that Vakil has already fallen in line after he saw his patron, Ghulam Nabi Azad, having been told not to meddle in the affairs of Pradesh Congress Committee.
