| MISSION DOSTI : INDIA-PAK WRESTELERS TOGETHER PRAYED FOR PEACE AND BETTER TIES | | | Katra,September 29 : Wrestlers from India and Pakistan today stole the show at Vivekananda sports stadium Katra as they mesmerized strong audience and together prayed for peace and strong ties between the neighboring countries. Indian wrestlers provided much needed icing on the cake as they beat their Pakistani counterparts winning four matches losing only one match to Pakistan. The event was organized by the Indian style wrestling association under the banner Dosti Mission. Thousands of spectators watched wrestlers from India and Pakistan and cheered them throughout the day amidst taps of drum beats and loud cheering. President of the association, Shiv Kumar Sharma said the event was organized to promote friendship between the neighboring countries. He said the event was organized for the second year in succession after receiving tremendous response from the general public. Hamid Khan and Mohd Imran two Pakistani wrestlers told visiting media men after the match that participation was more important than winning the match. Together they prayed for peace between the two nations and hoped that they would be given an opportunity to participate in the event next year as well. Another Pak wrestler from Pakistan Papu said that the experience was enchanting as crowd cheered them through the match. Gurdev who beat Hamid Khan said that the feeling of fighting with a Pakistani wrestler is more thrilling than winning the title.Roshan, a local resident from Katra had come along with his friends to watch the battle and felt happy that India won the maximum number of matches.
