| No JK resident on Muzaffarabad bus | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sep 3: Not even a single resident of the Kashmir valley today boarded the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating from Srinagar to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
However, 30 residents of PoK, who had come here left for their homes in the bus after meeting their relatives. Reports about the number of visitors coming from PoK was awaited. Official sources said that no resident of this side travelled to PoK today.
Though it was not immediately know why no Kashmiri travelled to PoK this time, but official sources said that the PoK administration took longer time to clear the names of this side for travelling to other side.
They said out of the 12,221 cases of this side forwarded to PoK, only 6826 were given clearance to visit their relatives across the border till July this year since the bus service was introduced on April 7,2005 when the first bus was flagged by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in presence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
As per the agreement between India and Pakistan when the bus service was introduced, a person can travel only when his or her name is cleared by both the countries.
Similarly PoK authorities are also sending cases of their citizens here for clearance.
