| Drive against black marketers | | 500 shops raided, Rs 2500 fine charged from defaulters | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Sept 4- At least 500 shops were raided and Rs 2500 fine was charged from the defaulters during the day long raids conducted by a special team constituted by District Development Commissioner on Thursday. The special team comprising Assistant Director CAPD, Kavel Krishan, Tehsildar Rajouri and DSP Headquarters started raids from Bus stand in the wee hours and culminated in Gujjar Mandi area in the evening. Sources said, acting on the complaints that the shopkeepers particularly, vegetable dealers and poultry bird dealers in the town were charging choice rates from the consumers that too in the month of Ramzan, DDC Sardar Jaipal Singh swung into action and ordered immediate action against the defaulters. He constituted a special team which carried out day long raids on Friday. During the raids, the inspection team also checked the weighting instruments and checked the rate lists of various consuming items. All the shop keepers have been asked to provide bills to the consumers. The inspection team also seized nearly dozen domestic use LPG gas cylinders from the commercial units.
