| CAPD imposes Rs.16400 fine to defaulters | | | Early Times Reports: JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 05 - In continuity of checking drive during the ensuing festival season and month of Ramzan, to ensure the strict implementation of essential commodities Act 1955, a team of Assistant Director, officers of Enforcement Wing headed by Deputy Director (S) CA&PD department, Jammu under the guidance of Director CA&PD, Jammu conducted market checking of various outlets of commercial establishments of Bakshi Nagar, Maheshpura Chowk, Rehari Colony and Rehari Chungi and challaned/ booked 11 defaulters for violation of EC Act/ LPG Control Order 2000. a fine of Rs. 16400 was realized as fine from them.
Prominent amongst them were Karan Restaurant Bakshi Nagar, Hotel 9-Inn Fast Food Bakshi Nagar, Hot Billion Restaurant.
The department has already been repeatedly informing the public that non-display of price list/ using of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes and charging rates in excess to the notified rates constitute serious offence.
All the Assistant Directors of Jammu province and officers of Legal Metrology Department/ Area Managers of Oil Companies are directed to conduct vigorous checking against the defaulters such using domestic LPG for commercial purposes.
