| Hamid calls for close of monitoring of projects | | | Early Times Reports: JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 05 - “Adopt more scientific approach in project planning and ensure accountability , transparency along with coordination and knowledge-sharing among various departments to cater to the needs of the growing population,” this was stated by Commissioner/Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Mr.Abdul Hamid in an introductory meeting with the senior officers .
Mr Hamid said that the department is directly linked with the general masses and thus thrust should be laid on providing best basic amenities to the people. He called for effective project implementation and said that feasible need-based projects should be formulated keeping in view the time and cost estimations involved in their execution .Stressing on proper planning and close monitoring he asked the concerned departments to draft zonal plans for carrying out micro projects for their time bound completion .
The Commissioner Secretary directed the officers to ensure proper monitoring of the projects on the ground-level so that the loopholes can be plugged in and funds and resources provided under various state and centrally sponsored schemes are being judiciously used.
He directed the concerned departments to gear up their enforcement wings keeping a stringent check on encroachments and illegal constructions which he said are posing serious problems in planned development and remodelling of the city. He said that close vigil will be kept on the new buildings and structures coming up and strict action will be taken against those found violating the norms.
Laying stress on the use of latest technology in carrying out the functioning of the department, he said that computerisation and digitization of the records should be prioritized in order to provide better services to the consumers and ensure a high level of transparency in the system. He asked to develop better information management system and single window clearances for providing quick redressal of public grievances.
