| 'RIK' announces essay competition for Pandit children | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT NEW DELHI SEPT 6: On the occasion of Teacher's Day, 'Roots In Kashmir' (RIK) have initiated an essay competition for community children till the age of 20. The last date of receiving the entries is Oct. 2nd. Roots In Kashmir, a Youth Initiative is proud to offer an opportunity to all the youngsters to pen down their thoughts for their community. RIK has called for entries of any and every Kashmiri under the age group of 20 years. Such an age group has been decided for the twenty excruciating years of Kashmiri Pandits living out of the valley. The Topic has been decided as ‘I am born In Exile’. "Surrounded with this topic, let your minds flow to unexplored boundaries, of thoughts and ideas to pen them down. They can be experiences, memories, nostalgia, anything that you can relate to with the valley. Your piece of work must be original, unpublished and eventually let it become an essay from the heart. The essay needs to be within the limit of 1000 words. The entries will be checked by an eminent Jury from the literary arena." This was stated by Sanjay Peshin for Roots in Kashmir. Monetary Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.
