| MLA Darhal demands revival of Anas Irrigation Project | | | Early Times Report:

MLA Darhal and senior PDP leader Choudhary Zulfiqar Ali have demanded the revival of Anas Irrigation Project in Tehsil Budhal District Rajouri, which was initially started in the year 1981-82 at an A.A. Accorded cost of Rs 447.00 lacs.
He giving statistical details he said that CCA area of the project was 3000 Acres of nillages Peeri, Gaghrote, Tarkari, Sankari Mera Nagorta, Rehraq, Saranoo and Handi when the discharge of the water was estimated 120 cuses and that open channel of 1.5 KM Tunnel.
But unfortunately the work on the canal was stopped in the year 1991-1992. WAPCOS have also investigated the project and have worked out the CBR 1:1:04. There is a potent ional of construction of 6 megawatt power project, which will not only irrigate the area but also enhance the CBR 1:1:50. He said if this project is rewind it manifolds beneficial for the people of that backward neglected and hilly area, like production of Agriculture will be enhanced.
