| JWAS submit memorandum | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 7: Sunil Dimple, president Jammu West Assembly Movement has expressed great concern over the rising prices and submitted a memorandum to the J&K govt. divisional commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, director CAPD and deputy director food and supplies CAPD Ramesh Chander and demanded the govt. to control the rising prices in the J&K state and Jammu region. Sunil Dimple alleged that the rising prices have broken the back bone of the common and poor man and people of all the sections of the society have become the victim of the rising prices. The central UPA govt ministry, the govt. administrative machinery and even the J&K state govt. is also seems silent and sleeping over the issue. The state and central govt. are not taking rising prices issue seriously. We demanded the UPA govt. the J&K state govt. and the administration to take stern action and immediate raids on the black marketers, hoarders as they have hoarded lot of essential commodities in the Godwans. Dimple also alleged that the LOC trade with Pakistan is also not benefiting the common man and people of the state and it is only benefiting the capitalists and business community man as the edible dals and other essential commodities coming from Rs 25 Kg and in Jammu it is sold from Rs 70 to 80 per Kg. We demand the govt. the check all this menace. We demand the govt. to hold the immediate meeting of all the departments for price control and the people so that the matter could be sorted out and for the cooperation of masses and govt. There is no check on the rates of the essential commodities atta, rice, sugar, seeds, edible dals, milk, cheese, oil, ghee, vegetables, petrol, diesel and all the business communities busy in doubling / multiplying the profit. The adulteration, substandard quality and duplicate edible essential commodities like ghee, synthetic milk, haldi-mirch and other items are being sold in the market openly. And no action is seen on black marketers hoarders and the festival season Navrataras, ID, Diwali is coming on. It is matter of great concern that no action from the govt. side is visible on the ground inspite of so much hue, cry and protesters demonstrations by the common man against rising prices. The common poor men was expecting lot of relief of rising prices from the union and J&K state budget but it also disappointed the people of the state as the state govt. increased the rates of petrol and diesel in the state. We demand the J&K state govt. to exempt the state tax on the state of LPG gas, petrol and diesel in the state to relieve the common man from price rise. Dimple demanded the central and state govt. to take action against the culprits, black marketers, hoarders and not to watch the situation as a silent spectator.
