Week long programme on leather processing begins

Leh, Sep 7: About 80 members of various self help groups participated in a week long programme organized for leather processing here at Changthang. The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Ajeet Kumar Sahu and was organized by Project Implementation Agency (PIA) in collaboration with Sheep Husbandry Department.
Meanwhile, for the sixth day of Ladakh Festival about 100 artists performed from SBI Bank to main bazaars and culminated at Municipal Complex. Cultural programs and mask dance was the main attraction of the show. Large number of foreign and domestic tourists witnessed the programme.
In another incident, police claimed to have solved a case of theft of jewelary worth Rs 35,000 from one Sonam Dolma daoughter of Sonam Tundup of Nee- Changthang on 3rd September. SSP Leh, B. Tuti while giving details to media persons informed that a team under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Stanzin Narboo was formed which worked out the case in record time.
