| Registration of unemployed educated youths from Oct 2: Gupta | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT AKHNOOR, 9 SEP: Provincial President, National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta said that registration of unemployed educated youths at district levels will be started from 2nd October (birth day of Gandhi Ji). He said in this connection workers are stressed upon to intensify the procedure so that government will come to know the exact number of unemployed educated youths prior to announcement of employment scheme scheduled on 5th December. Addressing a day long convention organized by Kissan Cell at Akhnoor, Gupta expressed serious concern over the situation due to drought and urged upon the revenue and agriculture authorities to assess the losses of the farmers so that they could be compensated suitably by the government. He said that people are facing in terms of water, electricity and other facilities in day to day life. He said that situation in Kandi areas are most deteriorated. Gupta also stressed upon the workers for gearing up their activities for the forthcoming Panchayat elections. He said that more decent and educated people should come forward to contest elections so that services to the common people will be extended promptly and hassle free. He said that dreams seen by Sheikh Abdullah are being fulfilled by his grand son Omar Abdullah satisfactorily. On the occasion President Kissan Cell Rajesh Bittu, President Women Wing Lakshmi Dutta, District President Sat Pal Lakhotra, District Secretary Ram Sawroop, District Women President Kuljeet Kour, Block President Krishen Lal Sharma and others also addressed the gathering.
