| CPI (M) demands intervention of NHPC | | |

Jammu, Sept 9: An emergency of CPI (M) regional committee Jammu was held under the chairmanship of Sham Prasad Kesar, Regional Secretary. All the members present in the meeting supported the agitation launched by the workers of Sewa Hydro Power Project at Bani District Kathua for their genuine and justified demands led by the centre of Indian trade unions. Comrade Kesar appealed to the management of NHPC to immediately intervene to redress the legal rights of the workers. The workers are demanding wages as per central labour laws only. The participants also appealed to the deputy commissioner Kathua to direct Labour Department to call tripartite meeting and resolve the issue.
