Bi-annual Operational Conference of ITBP concludes at Leh.

Leh, Sept 9- The 2-day Bi-annual operational conference of Indo- Tibetan Border Police Force which was held at Sector Headquarter Ladakh under the chairmanship of Vikram Srivastava, DG (ITBP) concluded here today. All the senior Field Commanders of ITBP Force including the IG, North West Frontier, Rajdip Singh were present in the conference. The main focus of the conference was to further strengthen the ITBP with modern implements in every aspects of its functioning.
On this occasion Srivastava inaugurated the newly constructed Administrative Block, new barrack for 128 ITBP men and newly installed 320 KVA Gen set at the ITBP campus. Apart from these, the DG, ITBP also flagged off the first convey of modern and recently inducted Tata-713 and Stallion vehicles. The TaTa-LSV and Victra-SLV vehicles having latest equipments have reached Ladakh on trail basis, which will be inducted in the motor transport fleet of Ladakh sector if found practicable for this region.
Talking to media persons, Vikram Srivastava revealed that the ITBP will be modernized with latest equipments, sophisticated weapons and surveillance devices. He further said that special and powerful vehicles to negotiate the hilly and difficult terrain of Ladakh are also being sent to the forward posts of ITBP for effective border management. Moreover, computers, telephone and internet are being made available at all forward posts for better communication of important nature of information, he added.
Pointing towards the welfare of the Jawans, the DG said that ITBP authority is much determined to improve the living condition of the Jawans in harsh weather providing them with PUFF HUTs at various forward posts and special clothing item. Besides, a well equipped high altitude medical training centre is also functioning here to monitor the health condition of ITBP men, he said.
