Jammu,September 9 :-Pakistani authoritis have resumed administring anti-polio vaccine in the Swat valley where the troops and the Talibans remained engaged in fierce fighting during the last five months.Reports reaching here from across the border said that vaccinating children against polio was resumed in the Swat valley after over one year. Reports said that the project of covering children under anti-polio vaccine was suspended after the Talibans captured the belt announcing ban on administring anti-polio vaccine. According to these reports,th Talibans had described the campaign against polio unislamic.They had even told people that administring anti-polio vaccine was part of the western comspiracy to make muslim children infertile. These reports said that the the programme was started recently after major area of the Swat valley was freed from the menace of the Talibans.During the four-month long military operations about 2,000 Talibans had been killed.The operations had forced over two million people to flee to safe places.After the Taliban threat had r eceded the Government has decided to cover over 2.15 lakh childr en under the anti-polio vaccine programme.(eom)
