How many FIRs against Shabir Shah

Jammu, Sept 9: In a petition filed by Shabir Ahmed Shah presently lodged in District Jail Jammu through his wife Dr. Bilquies Shah for quashing the FIR No 2/2009 registered by P/S JIC Jammu u/s ULA, 120-B, 121 RPC being illegal and against the provision of the law with a further prayer directing the respondents to indicate in how many cases Shabir Ahmed Shah is required by the State and how many FIRs are registered against him in police stations of Jammu Province, Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir of J&K High Court Jammu Wing issued notice to Additional Advocate General concerned who collect the information from Director General of Police J&K, as to how many cases are registered against the petitioner in Jammu province till date.

In the petition besides other grounds the petitioner prayed that Shabir Ahmed Shah continued to remain in Chopra Nursing Home Jammu and even as on today is admitted in the same hospital and filed bail application before the CJM Jammu after considering the report of JIC lack of jurisdiction, the CJM Jammu did not pass any order as the jurisdiction of Udhampur Court. In the petition it has been prayed that the respondents particularly DGP may kindly be directed to file the status report about the total number of the cases registered against Shabir Ahmed Shah in Jammu province till date so that detenue may approached the appropriate courts for grant of bail otherwise the respondents are misusing their powers by detaining the Shabir Shah in one FIR or the other for having no involvement in said FIRs.
