| Shopian situation demands immediate resignation from CM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 10- Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, JKNPP has demanded immediate resignation from the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for having failed to trace out the culprits involved in May 30, 2009 Shopian rape and double murder of two innocent women. In a statement issued here today Bhim Singh said the Chief Minister is also responsible for the murder of social activist Mohammed Hassan Zargar of Shopian, who was taking a lead role in the movement of people of Shopian in identifying the killers of women. “The Chief Minister after 100 days of the so-called investigations and trials under his supervision has now admitted his failure to trace out the culprits by handing over the said case to the CBI. ‘The circumstances which have developed in Shopian are sufficient grounds to justify sacking of Chief Minister’, he said adding that he had advised Omar several times to step down lest he meets the same fate as his father met in 1984 when was dismissed as Chief Minister.
