| Army jawan, among two held, for kidnapping, raping a minor girl | | |
JAMMU SEPT-29- Police today arrested an Army jawan and a shopkeeper for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl and raping her.
According to reports, a 8th class student Radha Devi daughter of Ajeet Kumar of Mansar had gone outside her house last night when two youths namely Ajay Kumar alias Aju son of Basu Dev, a shopkeeper by profession, and Raj Kumar son of Puran Chand an Army jawan resident of Mansar appeared there and kidnapped the girl forcibly and took her to their house.
When the father found her daughter missing he searched in the nearby areas but could not locate and informed the Police about the incident.
The Police registered a case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the accused.
Today morning the Samba Police got an information that the girl along with the two youth were hiding in a house in the area and a police party led by Chowki Incharge Neeraj Bhagat raided the hideout and arrested all the three including the girl.
In a statement before the Police, the girl confessed that the two arrested persons had kidnapped her and raped her repeatedly during the night. The girl was taken to Hospital for medical check up, the report of which is still awaited.
Police has registered a case under section 363 RPC under FIR NO 49/2006 in this regard.
