| PSC’s Warm send off to Jan | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 10: The senior most member and the acting Chairman of J&K Public Service Commission (PSC), Dr. Nisar Ahmad Jan was accorded a warm farewell by the members, officers and staff of the commission on attaining superannuation. A simple function was held in the lawns of the commission here today in honour of the outgoing member. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Public Service Commission, Mr. M. A. Bukhari said that Dr. Jan has always been inspiring for one and all during his service career and left indelible impression on his superiors as well as subordinates. Referring to some instances of Jan’s bureaucratic and social life, he said that Dr Jan always extended help to the poor and the needy for which he earned applause from everybody. In his speech, Controller of Examinations, Mr. G.H.Mir said that during his tenure as member of the Commission Dr. Jan has the distinction of initiating reformative measures for ensuring speedy selections that helped the Commission in making record number of selections in some of the disciplines during last year. He said Dr. Jan’s remarkable role both as a bureaucrat and social worker would be long remembered, adding his performance is worth emulation. Sharing some of the sweetest moments of his service career with the participants, Dr. Jan said that he has withstood even the hard times but remained determined to help the needy. He said that institutions have grown and evolved with the advancement of the age, adding that Commission’s role has become indispensible to fashion the career of the youth. He advised the officers of the Commission to deliver to their optimal potential to come to the expectations of the aspiring youth. The Commission members including Mr. Javid Ahmad Makhdomi, Mr. Mohammad Manzoor Bhat, Dr. H.L.Goswami, Dr. Tara Singh, Mr. Khazar Mohammad Wani, Secretary, Mr. M.A.Bukhari, Controller of Examinations, Mr. G.H.Mir, officers and staff members of the Commission on the occasion wished Dr. Jan a happy and contented post retirement life and presented him mementos as a mark of respect.
