Shabir Khan meets people , review issue in Rajouri

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 10 -Minister of State for Forest Environment Employment, Ecology, Transport Labour and Employment, Mr Shabir Ahmed Khan said that he is fully aware of the basic problems of the people of border areas and assure the people of their redressal in a phased manner. He was addressing largely attended public meeting in Doongi block of Rajouri district today.

The Minister also asserted that coalition government is committed to provide basic amenities to people of the state and for the purpose efforts are ahead for overall development of the state. He laid stress upon the people to protect the environment. He advised the people to plant more and more trees in arid land and surrounding areas of their locality for healthy environment, the Minister announced one handpump for Government High School Doongi. Referring to the demands of people like upgradation of primary schools to high school, water supply schemes, medical sub centre, link roads, he disclosed that all these issues would be taken in the coming DDB meeting scheduled to be held on September 16 and work would be executed on priority basis after approval of the district plan for the year 2009-10. He said that efforts area also being made to bring the religious places of Rajouri district on the tourism map of the state.

Regarding transportation problem, the Minister directed Assistant Regional Transport Officer to took into and address the genuine demand of the people immediately.

District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, S Jaipal Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Executive Engineers from PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control were also present in the meeting.

Earlier, the people put forth their problems like upgradation of primary schools completion Daria-Sasal and Keri water schemes, road link Dera-Bindigalla, Mahari-Jahari, borebells besides recruitment of educated un employed youth of the border block.

The Minister listen them patiently and assured the people that he will take up the matter with higher authorities for appropriate action.
