| Slathia inaugurates development projects, promise more in Vijaypur | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 10 -Minister for Industries and Commerce Mr. Surjit Singh Slathia has said that the coalition government is making concerted efforts to develop Vijaypur block in Samba district on modern lines. He said that it is the priority of the government to develop rural as well as neglected areas of the state in providing all basic amenities at their doorsteps. This was stated by the Minister while addressing a mammoth gathering at Ramgarh, here today. Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Mr. Sourabh Bhagat, SSP, Samba, Assistant Commissioner Development, Samba and other senior officers of RDD, PDD, PHE, R&B, Education, Revenue, Urban Local Bodies and Agriculture accompanied the Minister. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Slathia said that the government is making tireless efforts to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the weaker sections of the society. He said that government is slush with funds, adding that the priority of the government is to put the funds too judicious. He said that the centre government has recently approved a package of Rs. 5500 crore for the development of three regions of the state. He asked the officers to use funds judiciously in full in development activities by using quality material. He asked the officers to work with zeal and dedication and come up to the expectations of the all sections of the society by solving their problems on-the-spot without any delay. To mitigate the revenue related problems of the people of Vijaypur constituency, the Minister said that a office of Niab-tehsildar has been established at Ramgarh. To improve the power scenario in the constituency, he said that the government has sanctioned Rs. 2.41 crore for upgrading the existing infrastructure of transformers and grid stations of Nandpur, Vijaypur and Ramgarh towns. He said that the government has also lifted the ban for selling Basmati outside the state. Regarding supply of Urea and DAP in the Vijaypur constituency, he asked the Agriculture Department to ensure timely supply of fertilizers to the farmer community. To deal with water scarcity problems, he said that the sanctioned Rs. 5.40 lakh for construction of three hand pumps in Ramgarh town under Mark-II. For the convenience of general masses, he said that the government has also installed three mast lights in the main chowks of Ramgarh town at a cost of Rs. 3.40 lakh. Earlier, the Minister also inaugurated three lanes and drains in Rajwal, Ramloo-Rasolian and Ramgah, completed at a cost of Rs. 22 lakh under BADP/IHSDP schemes. Later, Mr. Slathia announced two ambulances, one for PHC, Nandpur and another for SDH, Ramgah for the benefit of ailing people. He asked the medical and paramedical staff to provide best possible medicare facilities to the people.
