| Students accuse JU authorities of violence, indiscipline at Campus | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 11- Criticizing the Jammu University authorities for increasing crime in the campus, Vikas Sharma President JURSEA has said that ever since the present Vice- Chancellor took over the number of incidents inside the campus has increased manifold. Addressing media persons today he said that there had been various attacks on the security personnel deployed inside the campus and the University authorities have failed to check to check this tendency. Despite increasing crime the security deployed inside the campus always feel handicapped as they are not given powers to take any action against the accused due to political pressure. Vikas Sharma said the Vice-Chancellor has never bothered to hold meeting with the students and scholars which speaks volumes of his indifferent attitude. JURSEA has appealed the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor of Jammu University to hold enquiry against Vice-Chancellor Prof. Varun Sahni for not holding any enquiry into the recent attacks on security personnel inside the campus. Rakesh Chib Convener JURSEA also said that the candidates who were called for interview for the post of Lecturer by the PSC were facing acute problems because of ongoing strike of JKSRTC as also for non-availability of accommodation. He also demanded lowering the percentage limit to 50 per cent from 55 percent for various posts. Vikram Singh Bandral, Mohammed Maqeem and Amit were also present at the press conference.
