Announcing this at a press conference today, Patron Kashmiri Pandit Amity Council Sanjay Saraf appealed the entire Kashmiri Pandit community to support the present agitation as the community youth is in total desperation and accused the Government of depriving the displaced Pandits of basic amenities of life. He demanded immediate rehabilitation of displaced Pandits, implementation of employment as well as economic package, enhancement of relief to the tune of Rs 10000 per month and relaxation in age, employment allowance to migrants living in rented accommodations and medical relief to all migrant families. Saraf also appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to visit the migrant camp personally to settle the demands immediately. The KPAC has urged all Kashmir Pandit Organizations and other community members living in non-camps to start dharna and corner meetings in their respective areas to make the agitation more strong and vibrant. The KPAC will be forced to sit on dharna at Lal Chowk Srinagar if the Government does not concede the demands of the KP’s and will also seek intervention of Civil Society and Human Rights Organizations, Saraf warned.
