| Minister order drive against traffic violation in Rajouri, Poonch | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, SEPT 11: In order to streamline the transport system in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Employment, Ecology, Transport Labour and Employment, CA&PD, Shabir Ahmed Khan convened a meeting. Assistant Regional Transport Officer, officers of the Police department and transporters were present.
Taking a stern note of complaints against plying of old buses on different routes and some buses being run without proper route permits violating the set norms, the minister said that such irregularities shall not be tolerated and stern action will be taken against those found guilty . Minister said that transport is an important sector and public concern and concrete steps will be taken to improve the transport system and provide better and safe facilities to the commuters .He directed the ARTO to keep close check and monitoring on the system to ensure the proper transport facility to the people living in far flung and hilly areas to avoid any mishappening due to technical slag’s in the vehicles Khan also directed the police department to keep a check on over loading in the buses plying on different routes of the district.
Earlier, the Minister visited Fatehpur on Rajouri Thannamandi route and inspected the 6.3 MVA power receiving station. He directed the PDD engineers to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to the people especially in the holy month Ramzan.
Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan also visited the District Hospital, Rajouri yesterday evening and enquired the well being of the patients under going treatment there ..
