Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, who set off today on a five-day visit to Ladakh, had an aerial view of Siachen sector. He was accompanied by the Commander of Army’s Northern Command and other senior officers of Army. Earlier in the morning, the Governor reached Thoise from Srinagar where he was received by the Army Commander, Northern Command, Lt. Gen. P. C. Bhardwaj, Corps Commander, 14 Corps, Lt. Gen. S. K. Singh, Commander, 102 Infantry Brigade, Brig. Avinash Singh, Station Commander, Air Force Station, Gp. Capt. M. K. Masand besides other officers of local administration. The Army Commander and the Corps Commander briefed the Governor about the Siachen Sector and beyond. Later, the Governor accompanied by the Northern Army Commander and the Corps Commander, had an aerial recce of the Siachen Sector. He also visited the Siachen Base Camp, interacted with the troops and had tea with them. He lauded the officers and men of the Indian Army, for guarding the frontiers of the country in extremely difficult climatic conditions, adding that the entire nation is proud of their devotion and commitment.
