JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 12 Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal on Saturday evening conducted an extensive tour to CPO, Chowk, Kachi Chawani, Civil Secretariat, Raghunath Bazaar, City Chowk, Shahidi Chowk and Exhibition and inspected the progress of ongoing development works executed by NBCC and ERA in Jammu city.
Chief Engineer, R&B, SSP Traffic, SP North, Executive Engineers of PHE, I&FC, ERA and NBCC accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.
Interacting with the NBCC and ERA authorities, Mr. Kotwal asked to complete the main hole and digging works within stipulated time frame. He said that before the opening of Darbar Move in Jammu, the works in Jammu city areas should be completed by end of this month. He said that the Navratra Festival is commencing from September 19, 2009 and during the Navratra days, several religious functions are being arranged in the city of temples like Maa Sheron-Wali Jagrans and Ram Lilias in different areas of the city. For the convenience of people, he asked the officers to complete the ongoing development works speedily in double shifts for the benefit of general masses.
Regarding supply of drinking water in Jammu city, he asked the PHE department to personally monitor the works and repair the damaged pipes simultaneously with the digging works.
