| Navratra arrangements finalized in Kathua | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Sept 12- In order to discuss and finalize the arrangements for Navratra festival commencing from September, 19, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner D.R. Sharma. Arrangements about transportation, sanitation, adequate drinking water un-interrupted supply of electricity, first aid facilities and availability of eatables at cheap rates besides security arrangements were deliberated in detail. It is worth mentioning here that Kathua district is bestowed with famous shrines of Mata Bala Sundri at Sundrikote in Billawar, Mata Sukerala at Billawar, Jasrota Mata, Mata Asha Purni at Kathua, Jourian Wali Mata, Dhoula Wali Mata at Bani, Bala Sundri at Nagri. Lakhs of devotees from within and outside the state visit these shrines every year to take the blessings during Navratra festival. In view of the heavy rush of passengers additional buses will be deployed. The traffic department was directed to take effective steps to avoid over loading/ over hanging in the vehicles. The police department was asked to make adequate security arrangements at all the shrines. Medical department was directed to make available necessary Medical facilities with life saving drugs along with team of doctors/ para medical staff at the shrines. Education department was asked to deploy teachers to Bala Sundri Temple Billawar to assist the management committee during the Navratra festival. Assistant Commissioner Development will ensure repair of bridle path leading to shrines. The PHE department was directed to ensure potable drinking water at the shrines. The ADC stressed for making fool proof arrangements well in advance for the yatris during Navratra festival.
