| Pakistan plans to outwit India by raising K-issue at UN session | | | Early Times Report
Jammu,September 12 :Islamabad has decided to rake up the Kashmir issue at the ensuing session of the United Nations General Council with the purpose of informing the international community about the "tactics" adopted by India for not resolving the dispute..This decision was taken at a meeting of the senior functionaries of the Foreign office in Pakistan which was presided over by the Foreign Minister,Shah Mehmood Qurshi.Senior officers of the intelligence agencies including the Director ISI were present.Shah Mehmood was briefed about the latest situation in Jammu and kashmir and India's stand on Pakistan's repeated plea for the resumption of bilateral dialogue which stands stalled since the Mumbai attack.
Well India has made it known that it has not been opposed to the rsumption of dialogue but wants Islamabad to take action against the perpetrators of the Mumbai mayhem.So far Pakistan has been adopting dilly dallying tactics.Even when Delhi submitted latest list of people who had engineered the Mumbai terrorist strike Islamabad described it as a rehash of the earlier list.With mounting pressure from the American Government on Islamabad telling it to concde the demand of India Pakistan has decided to adopt a procedure which may either embarrass India or force Delhi to resume the stalled talks.
Already the UN record reveals that the former UN Seceretary General had described the 1948 UN rsolution on Kashmir as obsolete and redundent and as such Pakistan plans to create an atmosphere in the world body so that the Kashmir issue was again raised.In fact Islamabad wants the UN Gnral Assembly to adopt a resolution making it mandatory for India to resume the dialogue with Pakistan for the purpose of rsolving the Kashmir issue. Islamabad knows it well that so long tals were not resumed Delhi would continue to mount diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to act fast and demolish the terror infrastructure and initiate st rict action against all the perpetrators of Mumbi terrorist attack for which a complete list had been forwarded to Islamabad.Islamabad equally knows it that once talks were resumed it will not be under pressure for taking action against the Mumbai terrorist attack engineers and against militants.
It is because of this that India has imposed one and only pr econdition for the resumption of composite dialogue.Delhi wants action against those involved in Mumbai carnage and against the terrorists who were being trained to infiltrate into the Indian territory especially into Jammu and kashmir for escalating the level of violence.Well if Pakistan tries to make an attempt,and China may not hsitate lending support to Islamabad at the UN General Assembly session,at raking up the Kashmir issue India may oppose it tooth and nail for which it expects support from the USA,Russia and other western nations.Whatever othr intentions P:akistan has it does not want to miss an opportunity for further internationalising the Kashmir issue.
