| Excise revenue realization goes upto Rs 47 Cr till Aug | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar Sep 12: - Excise Commissioner, Pradeep Gupta, today took review of the performance of the department in a meeting of senior officers held here today. All the Deputy Excise Commissioners and Excise and Taxation officers from various ranges of the state attended the meeting.
Reviewing the progress for the month of August, the meeting was informed that Rs. 45.28 crore have been recovered during August this year which is Rs.26.58 crore more than that recovered during August, 2008. Cumulatively ending August,2009 the department has earned Rs. 47.41 crore more revenue as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the meeting was told.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta impressed upon the officers to redouble their efforts to achieve better results in the coming months. He exhorted upon the officers to exercise vigil to ensure that there is no evasion of Toll and Excise revenue anywhere in the state. The Excise Commissioner stressed upon the officers to conduct regular raids to eradicate the menace of bootlegging and manufacture of illicit liquor besides ensure destruction of Bhang. He instructed the officers to depict highest standards of integrity and be responsive to the grievances of the public particularly the transporters and the commuting public.
