| Junior Assistant caught red-handed gets bail | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 12- Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sanjeev Gupta today granted bail to Bishan Dass a government employee who caught red-handed on September 9, 2009 while accepting Rs 5000 as bribe from complainant Sohan Singh. After hearing both the sides, the Court observed that the accused is in Vigilance custody for the last three days and his custodial interrogation is not required further. Moreover, his continuous detention in custody will amount to punishment before Trial of case. The Court allowed the bail application and admitted the accused to bail provided he furnishes surety bond and personal bond to the tune of Rs 20,000 each with the condition that accused shall not contact any prosecution witnesses or try to temper with the prosecution evidence. The accused shall appear before the Investigating Officer of the case as and when required and shall not leave jurisdiction of this Court without prior permission, the Court ordered. On a complaint filed by Sohan Singh that accused was demanding Rs,5000 for processing the case pertaining to demarcation of land, a team of Vigilance Organization laid a trap and caught the accused Bishan Dass Junior Assistant in the office of Tehsildar (settlement) Kathua red handed and recovered the bribe money.
