| Rs 2.86 Cr for militancy-hit | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 12: Nearly 9000 militancy-affected people in Jammu and Kashmir will have reasons to cheer this Eid-ul-Fitr with the state government allotting Rs 2.86 crore for their welfare. Under the National Council for Communal Harmony scheme, the amount has been released to various deputy commissioners of the state for disbursement among 8,964 militancy-affected people, Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo said addressing a meeting of Rehabilitation Council here today. Itoo said that directions have been issued to distribute the money before Eid-ul-Fitr. A sustained awareness campaign is needed to be launched afresh to generate awareness about the scheme in the state, she said, adding for the purpose, the Rehabilitation Council is organising a workshop on October 7 in collaboration with the National Council for Communal Harmony.
