Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 13- Expressing anguish over ignoring martyrdom of hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits, who were assassinated by militants, United Kashmiriyat Forum (UKF) has asked the government to honour the martyrs of community who laid down their lives for the National cause.
In a meeting specially organized to pay tributes to KP martyrs here on Sunday, the executive members expressed anxiety over the ignorance of hundreds of martyrs both the central and state governments as well.
Chairman, United Kashmiriyat Forum, Bharat Raina, on the occasion, said that those who killed hundreds of KPs were leading luxurious life while their misdeeds caused fear psychosis among the entire community which resulted in migration of over five lakh people who are living miserably in different parts of country.
He said that it was shocking that all those who killed the KPs were enjoying hi-fi life and nobody whether in the state government or the centre ever mentioned the sacrifice of those KPs who lost their lives for their only fault of being the nationalists.
“From December 1989- March 1990, 312 Kashmiri Pandits were killed by militants all across the valley which clarifies the fact that all was being done under a conspiracy to compel the community to migrate,” he said and added that the sacrifices of KPs went unnoticed which he thinks is a matter of grave concern.
Secretary UKF, Ashwani Bhat asked all the KP organizations to be united for the cause so that the great souls of the community who martyred their lives for the National cause could be honoured.
He further said that government should construct a monument in their memory so that the martyrs could be remembered by the coming generations.
Earlier, two minute silence was observed to pay respects to martyrs of community who, till their last breath served the national cause.
