| Protests, demonstrations, hawans mark observance of Balidan Divas | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 14- Continuing its series of protest demonstrations in the non-camp areas, Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch on the Balidan Divas today paid homage-on-roads to the martyrs who fell to the bullets and onslaught over the last twenty years and also held demonstrations at Muthi camp and non-camp areas of Bohri, Ganesh Vihar, Muthi and Barnai. “Kashmiri Hindus have only had false assurances and empty promises from the Government since their exile. Though different governments have talked of restoring to the minority Hindus of Kashmir their homes, rights, honour and dignity, they have all been bare words the words”, said JKVM leaders. They paid rich tributes to the Hindu martyrs who laid down their lives in Kashmir Valley He said it was on this day in 1989 that Pt. Tika Lal Taploo was martyred on the streets of Srinagar that signaled the beginning of genocide and the current exodus. ‘The first popular government after recruiting neatly a lakh of people promised that they would also give the Displaced Minority its due share, 16,000 applications were filed but no jobs were given’, they mentioned They further said the new government did bring in a Shrine Hill, but instead of enacting it buried it in a select committee. Amar Balidan Trust performed a Yagya at Roop Nagar to pay homage to martyrs on the occasion of Balidan Divas. Various other Kashmir Pandits organizations also observed Balidan Diwas at different places here today.
