| HC suspends sentence of Ex-Director Health Services in illegal appointment case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 14- Granting bail to Dr. M P Gupta former Director Health Services Jammu
who was convicted and sentenced by the Anti Corruption Court in illegal appointment case, Justice Mohammed Yaqoob Mir of J&K High Court Jammu ordered that conviction and sentence shall remain in suspension and appellant shall be released on production of bail bond to the tune of Rs.30, 000 and the personal bond of like amount to the satisfaction of both the Registrar Judicial of Jammu and Superintendent District Jail Jammu. The Court also directed that the applicant shall ensure his presence on each and every date of hearing.
This Criminal appeal was filed on behalf of applicant by Advocate PN Goja seeking suspension of sentence as well as grant of bail.
After hearing both the sides, Justice Mir observed that since the appellant is in old age and stated to be ailing, the Court finds it proper to grant bail to the accused subject to certain conditions. JNF
