| Northern Command celebrates Hindi Diwas | | |

HQ Northern Command today celebrated Hindi Diwas and to mark the occasion various activities such as Hindi Essay, Noting and Drafting, Hindi Typing through Computer and recitation were conducted.
Brig BS Das, BGS (IS&T) who was the chief guest on this occasion presented attractive prizes to the winners. Earlier in his address Chief Guest Brig Das emphasized upon the importance of the official language in day to day work through official correspondence in the offices of HQ Northern Command. He also stressed for the due place of Hindi in the Indian Constitution and expected that all must contribute in promotion of our National Language in right spirit, especially in the forces where multi-lingual people join and perform their job together in a common language Hindi.
Chief Engineer Branch of HQ Northern Command won ‘Rajbhasha Trophy’, for the year 2009, for their overall efforts, work and zeal shown in the promotion and spread of Hindi.
In the onset of the occasion Lt Col RVS Prasad, Offg Col GS (Edn) presented the welcome address.
In the concluding ceremony DS Rauthan, Asst Director (OL), and Secretary Official Language Implementation Committee HQ Northern Command presented the vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, officers and all the present in the ceremony.
