| Few idle iron rods cut life story short | | One held for killing cousin | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 14: As anger and gluttony are said to be the potential enemies of a man, it was proved once more as a youth landed up in Police custody after killing his real cousin over as trivial an issue as missing of a couple of idly lying iron rods. It happened in Gorakh Nagar locality on outskirts of Jammu City. Surinder Kumar son of Sinda was away to Katra along with his family with their house locked. On his return home, he found few iron rods, that were lying on the rooftop before they left, missing. Lock at the outer gate was intact. Sinda asked his cousin and immediate neighbour Vijay Kumar about the missing rods. The tone of Sinda’s inquiry about rods was like pointing suspicion on Vijay which led to a heated exchange of arguments between the two. As the quarrel heated, Vijay fell into a fit of rage and allegedly attacked Sinda with a sharp edged weapon. Injured Sinda was rushed by the relatives to GMC hospital where doctors proclaimed him as brought dead. Meanwhile, a Police party reached spot led by SHO Vikram Parihar reached the spot and started investigation. SDPO Jammu East Sandeep Mehta effectively supervised the investigations and the accused was arrested in few hours. “As soon as we received information we reached on the spot and rushed both of the injured to the GMC hospital where Surinder was confirmed as brought dead while another person (injured in the scuffle) received stitches on his head. Immediately a manhunt was launched and the accused was arrested along with the weapon of offence”, SDPO East Sandeep Mehta informed Early Times. In another case, Nagrota police have arrested one Alam Din alias Puttu son of Noor Din from forest area today.Puttu committed murder of one Mubarak Din alias Billu on Sunday and was absconding. The reason behind the incident is stated to be land dispute. Today on specific information a police team led by SHO Nazir Ahmed Dar and SDPO Nagrota Faisal Qureshi under the supervision of SSP Manohar Singh and Additional SP Rural Mohan Lal conducted raid in the forest area and arrested him. SDPO Nagrota Faisal Qureshi said, “ On specific information about the presence of accused a search operation was conducted in the forest area and accused was nabbed ”.A case under section 302 RPC stood registered against him in Nagrota Police Station.
