On arrival at the Monastery, he was given a warm welcome by the Lamas in a traditional manner by presenting Khatak to him. The Governor went around the Hemis Monastery Museum and Library and appreciated the rich collection. Interacting with the Lamas, the Governor emphasized the need for scientific conservation of the rare and invaluable manuscripts, Thangkas and other collections in the Museum.
