A missile was found on the Delhi-Ambala railway track near the railway station in Muzaffarnagar.
"We are not sure if it is war scrap or live. A bomb defusal squad has been pressed into service and is examining the explosive," Senior Superintendent of Police AK Sanger said.
Several important trains including the Shalimar Express, the Bombay-Dehradun Express and Frontier Mail Express ply on the track.
