Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 16- Central Board for Workers Education of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment celebrated ‘Workers Education Day’ here today. Minister for Labour and Employment Abdul Gani Malik was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion the Minister congratulated the Central Board for Workers Education for celebrating 51st Workers Education Day. He expressed his pleasure for conducting different types of training programs for organized and un-organized workers. He said his ministry is planning to organize programs for workers in every block of J&K to create awareness among the people of their moral, social responsibilities to the Nation and also apprise them of their rights. He also announced that a one day tripartite meeting will be organized by State Labour Department between Oct 15-20, 2009 with Trade Union representatives, managements and the Government representatives on issues related to workers. Deepak Rastogi, Deputy Director General, National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO) Union Ministry of Statistic and Program Implementation, who was Guest of Honour in his address, said that NSSO and CBWE have some similarity in the programs and both the organizations are working for people of the country. Sanjay Sarbhoy Chief (HR) Corp Communication NHPC Ltd. J&K in his presidential address stressed the need for amicable settlement of all disputes between management and the workers. He said CBWE for the last 30 years has been conducting Workers Education program for increasing productivity and quality of the organization. R.S Jamwal, Regional Director, CBWE, in his welcome address, gave detailed objectives of Workers Education in National perspective. G.A Mattoo, Education Officer gave some briefings on liberalization, privatization and globalization. Bachan Singh, Ex-DLC ,O.P Sharma, General Manager, Chenab Textile Mills, N. K. Gupta, President, BMS, Madan Sharma, Secretary General, JKTUC,J&K, Paras Ram Poonchi, President NIFTU, Com. Balkar Singh, Vice President, AITUC, J&K, Bimla Slathia, President Salal (NHPC) Workers Union, Shakti Kumar Sharma, President, Nehru Youth Club, Neelam Kumari, President Neelam Women Welfare Society, Sansar Chand, President, Sarvjan Vikas Sanstha, Vimal Gupta, Ex-RAC member, Pranav Shagotra Youth President, INTUC,O.P Gupta, Senior Vice President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu also shared their views.
