New Delhi, Sept 16- The play ‘Mind Games’ written and directed by Sumeet Sharma was staged by Natrang in National Awards Festival organized by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. The show was staged at Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, New Delhi, as a part of Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Awards Ceremony in which Sumeet Sharma has been awarded this year’s Sangeet Natak Akademi Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for direction in Theatre. The play witnessed by the stalwarts of the field of performing arts was appreciated a lot and the capital audience acknowledged and appreciated this highly innovative performance. The play ‘Mind Games’ revolves around a character Ajeet, who represents the mind model of a contemporary man whose rejections, anxiety, likes, dislikes, passions, reasons, fears, emotions, fantasies, dreams, etc. have a lot to share with all of us. The absurd thoughts which he develops create humor but unknowingly we are laughing at our own habits and shortsightedness while laughing at him. Sumeet Sharma as ‘Ajeet’ presented the epitome of the central character and he was equally supported by the dramatic histrionics of Krishan as ‘Krish’, Mohit Sharma as ‘Boss’, Sona Mehar as ‘Simran’ and ‘Gaurav Jamwal as ‘Kumar’. Others who supported the performance by their laudable acting included Rohit Verma, Hemant Bhola, Mohammed Yaseen, Roohi Singh, Vikram Sharma, Vikas Verma, Vivek Kumar, Charanjeet Bhardwaj , Pratibha Heer, Basnet Romilla Rajni Bhatti. Lights were designed by Suraj Ganjoo, Music was scored by Pankush Verma and Aarushi Thakur was the costume designer of the play.
