Displaced persons demand ownership rights on land

Jammu, Sept 16- Jammu United Secular Forum and Joint Action Committee of Displaced persons of 1965 and 1971 today demanded ownership right of land under the Land Reform Act and warned to launch a sustained stir at tehsil and block level if the demand was not met.
Addressing a joint press conference today, Avtar Singh Khalsa president of the forum and Balwnt Singh Chahal, president JAC appealed the Minister for revenue and relief that ownership right should be given to the persons displaced during the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971 as already given to the displaced persons under Land Reform Act.
They said that even after a long span of time, the government has not paid any attention towards the displaced persons. They demanded that without any further delay government should give right of ownership to all these displaced persons besides this the displaced persons who have not been provided land by the government should also be provided the land as per the scale given to other displaced persons who were in camps.
