Jammu Sept 16
Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of Panun Kashmir in an emergency meeting has expressed its concerns over the formation of the so called Apex Committee for the return of Kashmiri Pandits and has decided to disassociate from the so called apex committee.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chairman Political Affairs Committee,Prof.M.L.Raina and attended by the Convenor, Dr Agnishekhar, President Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, National Spokesman Virender Raina, O N Pandita, Smt Mohini Raina and Sanjay Raina and Prof M KRaina described the so called ‘Apex Committee’ constituted by the J&K government in a hurriedly manner. Dr Agnishekhar and Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo shall not associate with the so called Apex committee.Panun Kashmir rejects the formation and the very existence of the so called Apex Committee, the meeting was informed.
The terms of reference of the so called Apex Committee are in contravention of the assurances given by the National Security Advisor, M K Naraynan to the delegation of Panun Kashmir.
Members recalled that it was September 14 when a high level delegation of Panun Kashmir called on the National Security Advisor at Delhi and assurance was given to them that the employment package of 15000 jobs with age relaxation and enhancement of relief to Rs.10000/- would be implemented before the Prime Ministers visit to J&K. The Kashmiri Pandit community has already rejected the return plan and Panun Kashmir condemns the attempt of the government to divert the attention of the people from the month long agitation in the camps. Political Affairs Committee appeals to the people to remain vigilant against the machinations of the government and the vested interests and reiterated that it believes that the stablishment of Homeland in Kashmir is the only solution for the resettlement of the community in Kashmir.
