| Eid arrangements reviewd in Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 17 The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. M. K. Dwivedi today convened a meeting of officers of various line departments of PHE, PDD, PWD, CAPD, Municipal Corporation, SSP, SSP (Traffic), SSP (Security) and Administrator Auquaf, Jammu to review arrangements for Id-ul-Fitr.
In the meeting, representatives of social organizations, Muslim Federation, Shia Community, JK Front, Members Masjid committee etc were also present.
During the meeting, the Muslim Federation called for improving the condition of road leading to Eid Gah. The Executive Engineer PWD was directed to ensure that the road may be restored by 5.00 pm on September 18. Besides, specific directions were made for cleanliness in the area and the concerned authorities will ensure that regular cleanliness drives shall be carried out.
The PDD authorities were also given directions to ensure un-interrupted power supply and PHE authorities were directed to ensure water supply at all points especially at places where shortage is being reported like Bhatindi, Malik Market etc.
The Deputy Director CAPD was directed to conduct market checking through squads already constituted by this office for keeping the prices under check. It was also decided that CAPD shall give wide publicity through electronic and print media about the rates fixed by them for the essential commodities for the convenience of general public.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Mr. M. S. Sheikh, Assistant Commissioner (General), Mr. Rohit Khajuria, SSP, Jammu, Mr. Manohar Singh, SSP (Traffic) Mr. Parminder Singh, SSP (Security) Mr. Johny William, Administrator Auquaf Mr. Raj Mohd Malik and other officers of line departments.
Later The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu along with other officers visited Eid-Gah, near Hari Singh Higher Secondary School, Jammu. He also visited Karbla Masjid, Malik Market and Bhatindi Masjid and issued instructions to put in place all arrangements before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
