70 Years Old gone to POK in 1947 Filed writ seeking permanent settlement

Jammu, September, 30:- One Syed Alam Shah presently resident of Village Surahati Tehsil Mendhar District Poonch has filed a writ petition in the state High Court seeking permanent resident status of the State of J&K.



In the petition 70 years old Syed Alam Shah submitted that in 1947, he was compelled to leave his native place now came on visit visa, which is going to expire on October 30, 2006. According to the petitioner he approached Ministry of Home Affairs, Union of India for accord Indian Citizenship. In the petition the petitioner further submitted that after the expiry of visa, he apprehending his deporting and prayed before the Court for issuance directions to the Respondents State of J&K, Union of India and others not treat the petitioner as foreigner and restrain them to depart him.
