| Pak for unconditional talks | | | Islamabad Sept 17: Tossing a new slogan prior to the foreign secretary level talks with India, scheduled for next week in New York, Pakistan on Thursday said that the talks should be held without any pre-conditions. “The talks in New York should not be conditional. Indian has already made its stand clear on various issues during earlier talks held in Sharm-al-Sheikh in Egypt,” Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said. “We will clarify our stand on India during talks in New York,” Qureshi said while responding to a question weather Islamabad will put forward any pre-condition for talks vis-à-vis New Delhi’s stand while interacting with media persons before departing for New York to take part in the United Nations General Council Meeting. Pakistan Foreign Minister Qureshi said that back channel diplomacy with India can not be ignored and added that it would be started once again. “There is no getting away from the benefits of the back door diplomacy, The back door diplomacy with India will once again be initiated, if it suits Pakistan’s interests,” Qureshi opined. Replying to a question on former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf’s controversial remarks over the diversion of the US’ war on terror aid, Qureshi retorted that he has done a great disservice to the nation”, he retorted.
