| Nirvana Academy organizes ‘Sangeet Sandhya’ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 18- Nirvana Academy-a society for promotion of music, art and culture organized ‘Sangeet Sandhya’ at Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir, Jammu in memory of Pandit Uma Dutt Sharma, a great musician and also father and guru of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma.
The program started with Raag Aheer Bhairav, performed by young and talented musician Rohit Sharma on Santoor.
On this occasion an audition test was also conducted for the final selection of participants from Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir for Pandit Uma Dutt Sangeet Mahootsav in Classical, Light Instrumental, Folk and Light singing competition, which shall be organize at Abhinav theater.
Judges on the occasion were Ravi Sharma (music composer), Shashi Sharma (music teacher), Hitesh Badyai (President, Nirvana Academy), Sumit Sharma (Guitarist).
Fifty six students from Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir took part under different categories of which 23 participants were selected for final competition.
