SRINAGAR, Sept 18 – The Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, released a book co-authored by the Inspector General CRPF, Operations, Kashmir, Dr. N. C. Asthana and his wife, Dr. Anjali Asthana, at a function held at Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters, here this evening.
The book titled “The Ultimate Book of Explosives, Bombs and IEDs”, comprises 34 chapters and runs into about 500 pages.
In his remarks, the Governor appreciated the research and hard work put in by Mrs. and Mr. Asthana in bringing out this highly researched volume, adding that it will have a high reference value in the libraries. He congratulated both of them and hoped that, in future, they would also think of bringing out a volume on lighter subjects of everyone’s interest.
An audio-visual presentation was made on the occasion by Dr. Asthana, explaining the chemistry and physics of the explosives, bombs and IEDs, as well the aims and objectives of writing this volume to create awareness about these weapons.
Dr. Anjali Asthana presented a vote of thanks.
The Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, senior Police, CRPF, BSF and other Security Forces officers attended the book release function.
