| Natrang team leaves for Russia | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Sept 18: 15 member Natrang team leaves for six international festivals being held at Russia, Germany, Poland & Hungary today. There Natrang is going to stage the famous Dogri Play ‘Ghumayee’ written & directed by Balwant Thakur, it took them twenty-seven years to achieve that excellence level which made their entry possible in the Global theatre arena. He complimented all those who toiled day and night to realize this life-time dream of Natrang. Now onwards Dogras will proudly be proclaiming the International recognition of their language and culture. This event is going to create a history and will unleash a new era of the development of culture & language of the State. ‘Ghumayee’ has already been staged in India’s most prestigious National Theatre events which include, Bharat Rang Mahotsav organized by National School of Drama, New Delhi, Nandikar’s National Theatre Festival (Kolkatta), Ritiwick International Theatre festival (Behrampore W,B.) National Theatre Festival (Bhuvneshwar) National Theatre Festival (Thiruvantapuram) National Theatre Festival (Kollam) National Theatre Festival ( Tata Theatre Mumbai) Nehru Center’s National Theatre Festival (Mumbai) Theatre Days with Balwant Thakur (Chandigarh) From Delhi on 19th Sept. evening, the group is flying to Russia where they will be performing at three international theatre festivals including the prestigious ‘Year of India in Russia’ which was inaugurated by the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil at Moscow, In addition to this Natrang will have five shows in Russia including a show in Moscow International Theatre Festival. From there the group will leave for Germany to have a show in Berlin and later will participate in the much sought after theatre festival of the world, Frankfurt International Theatre Festival. Then the team will leave for its performances in Poland & Hungary from there the group will reach back to Moscow to take the flight back to India. After achieving all these laurels, the team will reach back on 6th of October to Jammu. The music of the play is scored by accomplished singer and composer Suraj Singh and lyrical support is rendered by Prof Champa Sharma and Brij Mohan. The Folk Motifs have been designed by Jagpal Singh. The team members who left for Delhi for onward journey to Russia included Anil Tickoo, Suraj Singh, Vikrant Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Sunit Kumar, Sat Salarbi, Tajasvi Sharma, Sumeet Sharma, Renu Kumari, Aarushi Thakur, Mohit Sharma, Pawan Verma and Rohit Verma.
